ANewStartBlood is the first attempt to port ANewStart guidelines in a dark fashion. Since the choices done here (this "bloodiness" that pervades all the theme) are surely tough to digest, maybe I'll plan another more easy-going version.

As its big brother, ANewStartBlood is a complete suite for GNOME. It's designed to work under Gnome-Shell, Gnome-Fallback and Unity. For Unity and Gnome-Fallback mode, please read the README file inside the pack. There is also a Conky file to meet the theme overall guidelines.

Other informations:

Dependencies:
  • GTK3 -> Unico GTK3 engine version 1.0.1 or later (only if you're using Gnome 3 or GTK3 applications).

  • GTK2 -> Murrine GTK2 engine 0.98.1.1 or later

Ha well, the red is to much contrasted I think.
A lighter one would be more agreable for the eyes at a long term.

Well yeah, I experienced that kind of color, really painful if used for a long time.

That theme is not supposed to be used for a long time :)

great work!!
it does not work for me either in ubuntu 11.10 with gnome-shelll 3.0.

i got the latest Unico GTK3 dependencies, but it is the old "advanced settings / gnome-teak tool" - shell theme bug which is greyed out from the very beginning, since i installed gnome-shell a few month ago.

is there any alternative way to make it work though?!
keep up the good work (:

Did you install gnome-shell-extension user theme? This is the extension that you have to use to install custom themes on your machine :)

If you did this (and I understood wrong), can you post me a screenshot or something similar to better show me your problem?

No wait let's start from scratch (so we avoid misunderstandings): you have to download the archive, extract it and move the folder "ANewStartBlood" to your ~/.themes folder.

Then you have to install gnome-shell-extensions-user-theme (did you do this?). After this, the entry in gnome-tweak-tool to change/select an user theme should be available and not greyed out, and you should properly select ANewStartBlood gnome-shell theme! :)
